Jesus Calling: March 11
Walk by faith, not by sight. As you take steps of faith, depending on Me, I will show you how much I can do for you. If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing Me work through you. When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength. That's why it is so wrong to measure your energy level against the challenges ahead of you. The issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless. By walking close to Me, you can accomplish My purposes in My strength.RELATED SCRIPTURE:
2nd Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)
7 For we live by believing and not by seeing.
Additional insight regarding 2nd Corinthians 5:6-8: Paul was not afraid to die, because he was confident of spending eternity with Christ. Of course, facing the unknown may cause us anxiety, and the thought of leaving loved ones hurts deeply. But if we believe in Jesus Christ, we can share Paul's hope and confidence about eternal life with Christ. Death is only a prelude to eternal life with God. We will continue to live. Let this hope give you confidence and inspire you to faithful service.
Galatians 5:25 (NLT)
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
Galatians 5:25 (NLT)
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
Additional insight regarding Galatians 5:25: God wants authority over every area of our lives, not just the "spiritual" parts. As we live by the Holy Spirit's power, we choose to submit every aspect of our lives to God: emotional, physical, social, intellectual, vocational. Paul says that because we're saved, we should live like it! The Holy Spirit is the source of your new life and provides the energy and direction for it, so keep in step with his leading. Don't fall behind or hold back anyone else. Don't let anybody else's values or standards hold you back in any area of your life.
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, GOD !
ReplyDeleteWhy is the Holy Spirit male? (I.e "keep in step with "his" leading) rather than "keep in step with "its" leading" to encompass both male, female and others?
DeleteBecause that's how it's written in the original language 🤷♀️

Thanks be to God who knows exactly what I needed today. This devotional was perfect for me this day. Jesus is my savior and Holy Spirit is my guide.
ReplyDeleteI have this book, and the amount of days that it is right on point is amazing. I have read some criticism of Sarah Young for writing in first person, but that's is the same thing that the writer's of the Bible did it when quoting Jesus. The Holy Spirit inspired the writers of scripture to write the words of God. If you have ever written something while reading the Bible or doing Bible study or been inspired during prayer, and had God's Holy Spirit take over and dictate something revealing and you knew it was Him, you have done the same thing. God inspired what she wrote because these words have supernatural power.

ReplyDeleteThe Lord is God. When I am weak He is strong.
ReplyDeleteWhy is the Holy Spirit male? (I.e. Keep in step with "his" leading). Why isn't it written "Keep in step with "its" leading" to encompass all sexes--(male, female etc.?)
ReplyDeleteThe important message here is to focus on following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and it includes ALL God's people. If you allow a "his" reference to interfere with this message, then it might help to say the St. Michael prayer out loud to banish the devil who is trying to distract you from the Word of God. I will pray that you get past this mindset so that God's word transcends all barriers to your soul. God bless you. Pray often for God's grace and His blessings will steady your thoughts and feelings.
