Jesus Calling: December 7th

I AM with you in all that you do, even in the most menial task. I am always aware of you, concerned with every detail of your life. Nothing escapes My notice -- not even the number of hairs on your head. However, your awareness of My Presence falters and flickers, as a result, your life experience feels fragmented. When your focus is broad enough to include Me in your thoughts, you feel safe and complete. When your perception narrows so that problems or details fill your consciousness, you feel empty and incomplete.
Learn to look steadily at Me in all your moments and all your circumstances. Though the world is unstable and in flux, you can experience continuity through your uninterrupted awareness of My Presence. Fix your gaze on what is unseen, even as the visible world parades before your eyes.

RELATED SCRIPTURE:

Matthew 10:29-31 (NLT)
29 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Hebrews 11:27 (NLT)
27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

2nd Corinthians 4:18 NLT
18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Additional insight regarding 2nd Corinthians 4:18: Our ultimate hope when we are experiencing terrible illness, persecution, or pain is the realization that this life is not all there - that there is life after death! Knowing that we will live forever with God in a place without sin and suffering can help us live above the plain that we face in this life.

  2. Thank You Lord for blessing me with a strong powerful group of believers. "Surely the Lord is in this place. A family that prays together stays together. There is none like Him. We serve a POWERFUL GOD." Thank You Lord for the gentle reminder of Your love, mercy and grace for a sinner like me. I am grateful you knocked on the door of my heart. Loving and praying my JC Family.

  4. Thank you so much for this. The word "emptiness" has been on my mind a lot lately. I feel empty at work, at home, and in my marriage. I've felt completely out of options lately, and God has seemed to be silent. But this reading this, thinking about my focus on the problems that surround me reminds me that that is where the emptiness is, not with God.

    1. Thank you for sharing…feelings I know that many of us have in common at times. I remind myself that life has its ebbs and flows, but I have also felt the discontent in multiple areas of my life have been deafening. Still, I am faithful that God works accordingly, and there is a purpose for it all.
These “ebb” moments are universal, I have to think. So, I continue to trust that God is keeping me and preparing me for the “next”.
