Jesus Calling: November 10th, 2024

Jesus Calling: November 10th

Focus your entire being on My living Presence. I am most assuredly with you, enveloping you in My Love and Peace. While you relax in My Presence, I am molding your mind and cleansing your heart. I am recreating you into the one I designed you to be.
As you move from stillness into the activities of your day, do not relinquish your attentiveness to Me. If something troubles you, talk it over with Me. If you get bored with what you are doing, fill the time with prayers and praise. When someone irritates you, don't let your thoughts linger on that person's faults. Gently nudge your mind back to Me. Every moment is precious if you keep your focus on Me. Any day can be a good day, because My Presence permeates all time.

RELATED SCRIPTURE:

Psalm 89:15-16 (NIV)
15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
16 They rejoice in your name all day long;
    they celebrate your righteousness.

Additional insight regarding Psalm 89:14,15: Righteousness, justice, love, and truth are the foundation of God's throne; they are central characteristics of the way God rules. They summarize his character. As God's ambassadors, we should exhibit the same traits when we deal with people. Make sure your actions flow out of righteousness, justice, love, and faithfulness, because any unfair, unloving, or dishonest action cannot come from God.

1st John 3:19-20 (NIV)
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Additional insight regarding 1st John 3:19-20: Many are afraid that they don't love others as they should. They feel guilty because they think they are not doing enough to show proper love to Christ. Their consciences bother them. John has these people in mind in this letter. How do we escape the gnawing accusations of our consciences? Not by ignoring them or rationalizing our behavior but by setting our heart on God's love. When we feel guilty, we should remind ourselves that God knows our motives as well as our actions. His voice of assurance is stronger than the accusing voice of our conscience. If we are in Christ, he will not condemn us (Romans 8:1; Hebrews 9:14,15). So if you are living for the Lord but feeling that you are not good enough, remind yourself that God is greater than your conscience.

Jude 1:24-25 (NLT)
A Prayer of Praise
24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. 25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

Additional insight regarding Jude 1:24: As the letter begins, so it ends - with assurance. God keeps believers from falling prey to false teachers. Although false teachers are widespread and dangerous, we don't have to be afraid if we trust God and are rooted and grounded in him.

Additional insight regarding Jude 1:24: To be sinless and perfect (without a single fault") will be the ultimate condition of the believer when he or she finally sees Christ face-to-face. When Christ appears and we are given our new bodies, we will be like Christ (1st John 3:2). Coming into Christ's presence will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine!

Additional insight regarding Jude 1:25: The audience to whom Jude wrote was vulnerable to heresies and to temptations toward immoral living. Jude encourages the believers to remain firm in their and trust in God's promises for their futures. This was all the more important because they were living in a time of increased apostasy. We, too, are vulnerable to doctrinal error. We, too, are tempted to give in to sin. Although much false teaching is around us, we need not be afraid of giving up in despair - God can keep us from falling, and he guarantees that if we remain faithful, he will bring us into his presence and give us everlasting joy.

Psalm 41:12 (NIV)
12 Because of my integrity you uphold me
and set me in your presence forever.

  3. Jude 124 should be "fall prey" not "fall prep." Thank you.
