Jesus Calling: October 31st
Learn to listen to Me even while you are listening to other people. As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground. You need the help of My Spirit to respond appropriately. Ask Him to think through you, live through you, love through you. My own Being is alive within you in the Person of the Holy Spirit. If you respond to others' needs through your unaided thought processes, you offer them dry crumbs. When the Spirit empowers your listening and speaking. My stream of living water flow through you to other people. Be a channel of My Love, Joy, and Peace by listening to Me as you listen to others.RELATED SCRIPTURE:

1st Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
John 7:38-39 (NIV)
38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
Additional insight regarding John 7:38: Jesus' words, "come and drink" alluded to the theme of many Bible passages that talk about Messiah's life-giving blessings (Isaiah 12:2-3; 44:3-4; 58:11). In promising to give the Holy Spirit to all who believed, Jesus was claiming to be the Messiah, for that was something only the Messiah could do.

ReplyDeleteI’m confused as to why I cannot hear, feel or see those things others say they receive from the Spirit. I wonder if they are fooling themselves into believing in something that is so far beyond understanding and man has made up religion to try and fathom something we cannot. I once believed, but no longer accept man’s religion but that the Creator I try to imagine is unimaginable. So I shall continue to wonder and seek a way to communicate.
DeleteI understand your feelings or lack of. That is what faith and hope is for, blessed are those who do not see. I don't know what religious denomination you are, but if you seek out an OCIA class with a Catholic church to teach you,it will be hard not to understand or believe. It all makes so much sense. DeleteDear Anonymous: I would say to you to seek Jesus to show you He is real and don’t worry about what other people say. He loves you, He created you and can show you without a shadow of a doubt that He is real in a way you alone will understand. Just ask and watch what He will do.

DeleteDid you get a reply? I never reply but if i don’t to this note about your confusion trying to hear the spirit then i didn’t follow what the devotional says. I pray my words help. I don’t always hear it either but i think if i stay rooted in the word, attend church often, do a daily devotional, focus each day on blessings, that eventually and sometimes i feel the spirit (gentle nudge) or just a more at peace existence. I pray that you can be steadfast and keep trying, and I pray that you give yourself some Grace bc we aren’t perfect. Finally I pray you feel some sense of love, good and peace today. Amen.

DeleteWhy continue to wonder when all you need to do is ask God to meet you where you are? Many of us have been there just ask him to reveal himself to you so you can enjoy and know him personally. I pray in the name of Jesus you get to experience the greatest gift you will ever have. God bless 🙏
DeleteI sometimes would feel that way, but there is an inner burning light that I feel. I know when I do the right thing vs the wrong something inside me guides me to the good. When I stray and say, think or do something that I know is mean or wrong I feel the shame. That is the Holy Spirit guiding me to apologize or make my wrong right. It’s just inside me, it’s not made up. I also feel clean with the Holy Spirits light shining inside of me.
