Jesus Calling: September 2nd
Living in dependence on me is a glorious adventure. Most people scurry around busily, trying to accomplish things through their own strength and ability. Some succeed enormously; others fail miserably, but both groups miss what life is meant to be: living and working in collaboration with me.When you depend on me continually, your whole perspective changes. You see miracles happening all around, while others see only natural occurrences and "coincidences." You begin each day with joyful expectation, watching to see what I will do. You accept weakness as a gift for me, knowing that My power plugs in most readily to consecrated weakness. You keep your plans tentative, knowing that my plans are far superior. You consciously live, move, and have your being in me, desiring that I live in you. I in you, and you in Me. This is the intimate adventure I offer you.
RELATED SCRIPTURE:
2nd Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)
9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Acts 17:28 (NIV)
28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
Additional insight regarding Acts 17:27,28: God is in His creation and close to every one of us. But he is not trapped in his creation - he is transcendent. God is the Creator, not the creation. This means that God is sovereign and in control, while at the same time he is close and personal. Let the creator of the universe rule your life.
Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT)
Freedom from Rules and New Life in Christ
6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
John 14:20 (NLT)
20 When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

NEXT DAY'S JESUS CALLING: September 3rd
Please check the blog before posting, we live 'in dependance' on God, not 'independence'. I have checked this in the hardback copy. Additionally God is the Creator, not 'God is the Creation'as per Additional Insight. I also find many similar issues in these blogs that give a wrong impression as to the nature and character of our wonderful Almighty God, Jesus my Saviour and the precious Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeletenice catch thank you
DeleteAlso, the third sentence should be "Some succeed enormously," not "some ignore mostly".

DeleteThird sentence should be "some succeed enormously" not "some succeed ignore mostly."
ReplyDeleteThere is an error in the third line: it should say, “Some succeed enormously”. ❤️
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Numerous typos in the sweet devotionals and in the “Additional insights” (about one a week +/-) if beneficial to know. Please let me know if you’d like me to advise you of each, since I’m reading them anyway. As mentioned previously, I am so grateful for these entries, supplementing my hard-copy. Shalom.
ReplyDeleteShalom
DeleteFor those of us familiar with Bible teaching, these 'google missprints' are barely noticeable. We k ow what was meant to say. But a few 'newbies ' may be 😕.
ReplyDeleteI think people who "know" the "Truth" the "word" ...Get it! Not concerned with "correct" grammar... ...thanks peace, and grace to all
ReplyDeleteWow! That’s what you want to share from your heart for the edification of others? 😢
ReplyDeleteAlso, "I in you", not "I am you".
ReplyDeleteThank You Lord Jesus For Always Being There For Me! 🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏
ReplyDeleteJesus, You have taught that God will take care of all. I will make my plans and will be alert for the gifts and surprises and redirections God sends my way. As long as God abides in me and I in God, I know what to do in all circumstances. May my footsteps take me in the direction God wills.
ReplyDeleteAmen
There were no typos that I read!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me of my weakness and dependence. Lord, keep me focused! N
ReplyDeleteGod's got it
ReplyDeleteHelp me today please, Lord Jesus.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father, Abba, I thank you for another day of life. Sometimes I get so caught up in the pain, this game of life and the past. But I ask that you keep my focus on you. Continue to guide me and walk with me on the journey called life. I give my plans, my worries, my thoughts to you. I can't do it without you as I know that I am weak in the flesh and only through you am I strong. I surrender my all to you. Help me to be obedient to your will with a heart posture of gratitude. I pray to that this is just a speed bump in life and that I will become even closer to you. I choose to be the light in the darkness. Thank you, God. In Jesus name, Amen!
ReplyDeleteLord, let us look beyond human imperfections-including typos.🙄 May we focus on the true biblical meaning & message(s) provided to us with love 🙏 FG in CA
ReplyDeleteI find myself coming back here after foolishly thinking I could go it alone and digest more “intellectual” devotions. (Which never happened btw) I think about Paul speaking on milk and meat and I put these expectations on myself that I should be (after decades of being a child of God) much more mature in my walk, more learned, eating meat like it’s easy, impressing Jesus with my maturity and growth. Of course, I crash and burn because I can’t possibly meet my own irrational expectations and, as I was reminded yesterday, Jesus doesn’t know how to NOT love me. His only expectation is to LET HIM love me. Growth and maturity probably looks more like being broken hearted and fully aware of my frailty all while KNOWING I’m surrounded by Him and His protection and provision. Could that awareness be the “meat” Paul spoke of? David and Job were people “after God’s own heart.” Not because they were “perfect” but because in their pain, in their losses, fear, grief, and hopelessness, they REMAINED in His presence through it all. They LAMENTED to God in His presence. They didn’t leave. Through heartaches and fears and ALL THE JUNK life throws at us, they remained at the feet of God and kept their eyes on Him. The beauty of His empathy is manifested through Jesus. He UNDERSTANDS and His heart is broken for us, too. I think often of how “angels are amazed” at this. For our relationship with the creator of the universe is not like theirs. We have SONSHIP with Him. We are His children. I am His daughter through it all. NOTHING CAN SEPARATE ME from His Love.
ReplyDeleteHope you’re ok!
