Jesus Calling: August 25th
I am the eternal I am; I always have been, and I always will be. In My Presence you experience Love and Light, Peace and Joy. I am intimately involved in all your moments, and I am training you to be aware of Me at all times. Your assignment is to collaborate with Me in this training process.I have taken up residence within you; I am central in your innermost being. Your mind goes off to tangents from its holy Creator, time after time. Do not be alarmed by your inability to remain focused on Me. Simply bring your thoughts gently back to Me each time they wander. The quickest way to redirect your mind to me is to whisper My Name.
RELATED SCRIPTURE:
Exodus 3:14 (NLT)
14 God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”
Additional insight regarding Exodus 3:13-15: The Egyptians had many gods by many different names. Moses wanted to know God's name so the Hebrew people would know exactly who had sent him to them. God called himself I AM, a name describing his eternal power and unchangeable character. In a world were values, morals, and laws change constantly, we can find stability and security in our unchanging God. The God who appears to Moses is the same God who can live in us today. Because God's nature is stable and trustworthy, we are free to follow and enjoy him rather than spend our time trying to figure him out.
1st Corinthians 3:16 (NLT)
16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
Additional insight regarding 1st Corinthians 3:16: Paul wanted the Corinthians to understand that they were a unified assembly ("all of you together are the temple of God" and "the Spirit of God lives in you"). They were not to see themselves as a collection of competing interests or independent individuals. Paul was emphasizing the intent of Jesus' prayer in John 17:21-23 that believers be unified in God. What actions could you take this week to strengthen your ties to fellow Christians in the church of Jesus Christ?
Psalm 25:14-15 (NLT)
14 The Lord is a friend to those who fear him.
He teaches them his covenant.
15 My eyes are always on the Lord,
for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.
Additional insight regarding Psalm 25:14-15: "The Lord is a friend to those who fear him." God offers intimate and lasting friendship to those who revere him, who hold him in the highest honor. What relationship could ever compare with having the Lord of all creation for a friend? Your everlasting friendship with God will grow as you respect and honor him.

NEXT DAY'S JESUS CALLING: August 26th
This was a meaningful devotional today. He is here, living in me and I'm glad He is a friend. And also, the reminder of the way God was self-described (namsd): I AM.

ReplyDeleteI loved reading this. Jesus, my everything. The distance I've had the last 6 years in my relationship is horrible. The pain I have endured cannot be described. I have a feeling of someone lost but I'm not. Just distant. I long for the days when daily walking with the Lord was my peace. I don't know if I can ever have that again.
ReplyDeleteYes you can
DeleteYes you will.
DeleteWhy isn't the letter “M” capitalized in me when referring to Jesus?
ReplyDeleteOr am I making an error?
Praying for you to keep remembering our Father Jesus Christ always, Kimberly! Immanuel, God with us, forever! Amen
