Jesus Calling: June 25th
Open your hands and your heart to receive this day as a precious gift from Me. I begin each day with a sunrise, announcing My radiant Presence. By the time you rise from your bed, I have already prepared the way before you. I eagerly await your first conscious thought, I rejoice when you glance My way.Bring Me the gift of thanksgiving, which opens your heart to rich communion with Me. Because I am God, from whom all blessings flow, thankfulness is the best way to draw near Me. Sing praise songs to Me; tell of My wondrous works. Remember that I take great delight in you; I rejoice over you with singing.
RELATED SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 118:24 (NLT)
24 This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Additional insight regarding Psalm 118:24: There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice. Our mood is down, our situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming. We can relate to the writers of the psalms who often felt this way. But no matter how the writers felt, they were always honest with God. And as they talked to God, their prayers ended in praise. When you don't feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel. You will find that God will give you a reason to rejoice. God has given you this day to live and to serve him - be glad!
Psalm 95:2 (NLT)
2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
Additional insight regarding Psalm 95:1-4: Songs, shouts, gratitude, and praise erupted from those gathered to worship the Lord. While there are certainly many examples of stillness and silence in God's presence taught and illustrated in Scripture, there are equally as many examples of raucous worship. Both peaceful silence and enthusiastic praise are appropriate expressions of worship to our great God.
Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT)
17 For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Additional insight regarding Zephaniah 3:14-18: The Lord himself will remove the hand of judgment, disperse Israel's enemies, and come to live among his people. He will give them gladness. Zephaniah points out that gladness results when we allow God to be with us. We do that by faithfully following him and obeying his commands. Then God rejoices over us with singing. If you want to be happy, draw close to the source of happiness by obeying God.

Dear God In Jesus name!
ReplyDeleteI have not known what to write lately! Whether a poem or learning to write prayer or a song! I read your writings or Sarah Young, messages I feel drawn to what is said. From anxiety-fear, or faith to write singing that is shared. The joy of the song birds have disappeared unless outside the city? I love the sound of Robin, Oriole, Tree Swallows, Gold finch to name a few. The love of Birds or nature even at back yard feeder-the joy of seeing happiness of the birds. I hate to say it but so much of nature is disappeared? Maybe God in heaven with my Dad who liked the birds would enjoy identifying! I love the quiet moments like Jesus sometimes I need to shut out my busy mind and enjoy presence with only your sound of silence!
The birds are still singing 🎶 more now than ever! I see this post 2020 during covid. Still give God all the praise and Glory!!! Amen !
