Jesus Calling - April 8th, 2024

Jesus Calling: April 8th

I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU, your constant Companion and Provider.  The question is where you are with Me and for Me.  Though I never leave you, you can essentially “leave” Me by ignoring Me: thinking or acting as if I am not with you.  When you feel distance in our relationship, you know where the problem lies.  My Love for you is constant; I am the same yesterday today, and forever.  It is you who changes like shifting sand, letting circumstances toss you this way and that.
When you feel far from Me, whisper My Name.  This simple act, done in childlike faith, opens your heart to My Presence.  Speak to Me in love-tones; prepare to receive My Love, which flows eternally from the cross.  I am delighted when you open yourself to My loving Presence.

RECOMMENDED BIBLE VERSES:

Genesis 28:15 NLT
15 What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.” (Related scriptures = Genesis 48:21, Deuteronomy 7:9, all of 8, 31:6)

Additional insight regarding Genesis 28:10-15: God's covenant promise to Abraham and Isaac was offered to Jacob as well. But it was not enough to be Abraham's grandson; Jacob has to establish his own personal relationship with God. God has no grandchildren; each person must have a personal relationship with him. It is not enough to hear wonderful stories about Christians in your family. You need to become part of the story yourself (see Galatians 3:6-7).

Romans 8:31 NLT
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Related scripture = Psalm 118:6)

Additional insight regarding Romans 8:31-34: Do you ever think that because you aren't good enough for God, he will not save you? Do you ever feel as if salvation is for everyone else but you? Then these verses are especially for you. If God gave his Son for you, he isn't going to hold back the gift of salvation! If Christ gave his life for you, he isn't going to turn around and condemn you! He will not withhold anything you need to live for him. The book of Romans is more than a theological explanation of God's redeeming grace - it is a letter of comfort and confidence addressed to you.

Hebrews 13:8 NLT
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Related scripture = Hebrews 1:12)

Additional insight regarding Hebrews 13:8: Though human leaders have much to offer, we must keep our eyes on Christ, our ultimate leader. Unlike any human leaders, he will never change. Christ has been and will be the same forever. In a changing world we can trust our unchanging Lord.
