Jesus Calling: July 24th, 2026

Jesus Calling: July 24th

Thankfulness opens the door to My Presence. Though I am always with you, I have gone to great measures to preserve your freedom of choice. I have placed a door between you and Me, and I have empowered you to open or close the door. There are many ways to open it, but a grateful attitude is one of the most effective.
     Thankfulness is built on a substructure of trust. When thankful words stick in your throat, you need to check up on your foundation of trust. When thankfulness flows freely from your heart and lips, let your gratitude draw you closer to Me. I want you to learn the art of giving thanks in all circumstances. See how many times you can thank Me daily; this will awaken your awareness to a multitude of blessings. It will also cushion the impact of trials when they come against you. Practice My Presence by practicing the discipline of thankfulness.

RELATED SCRIPTURE:

Psalm 100:4 (NLT)
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
    go into his courts with praise.
    Give thanks to him and praise his name.

Additional insight regarding Psalm 100:4: God alone is worthy of being worshipped. What is your attitude toward worship? Do you willingly and joyfully come into God's presence, or are you just going through the motions, reluctantly going to church? This psalm tells us to remember God's goodness and dependability, and then to worship with thanksgiving and praise.

1st Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)
18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Additional insight regarding 1st Thessalonians 5:18: Paul was not teaching that we should thank God for everything that happens to us, but in everything. Evil does not come from God, so we should not thank him for it. But when evil strikes, we can still be thankful for God's presence and for the good that he will accomplish through the distress.

    Jesus is the vine, we are the branches, the Holy Spirit is the life blood flowing from the vine to the branches. God owns the vineyard is the vine dresser. God is a master surgeon and pruner. While pruning may be uncomfortable, I thank you, Abba, for caring enough to correct me so that I may bear much fruit, for Him! Thank you for not taking your hand off of me.

    I am thankful for the career that I am in even though right now the future is uncertain. I put my trust in God to grow.closer.to him while I am uncertain. Lord be with me and guide me in the right direction, show me that these current challenges will one day be looked back on as blessings and help me to feel that future in glimpses today so that I do not fall into the trap of fear and anger towards others who gave me an opportunity to have this career years ago.

    I don't know if anyone is monitoring this site currently, but if so, I would be GRATEFUL for prayer. My mother dies three months ago and I am having a hard time navigating grief. My husband's business closed and he has been sitting on the couch for two years. I am angry and frustrated. My two daughter are dealing with their own "adult" challenges, and somehow, I am carrying that weight as well. Two days ago I wrote for words in my journal: I have my life. Please pray for me. Pray for my mind. My heart. My spirit. I am crumbling under the weight of my life, the expectations of others and the feeling that I have to be responsible for everyone around me.
