Jesus Calling: May 8
Do not long for the absence of problems in your life. That is an unrealistic goal, since in this world you will have trouble. You have an eternity of problem-free living reserved for you in heaven. Rejoice in that inheritance, which no one can take away from you, but do not seek your heaven on earth.Begin each day anticipating problems, asking Me to equip you for whatever difficulties you will encounter. The best equipping is My living Presence, My hand that never lets go of yours. Discuss everything with Me. Take a lighthearted view of trouble, seeing it as a challenge that you and I together can handle. Remember that I am on your side, and I have overcome the world.
John 16:33 NLT
33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Additional insight regarding John 16:33: Jesus summed up all he had told them this night, tying together themes from John 14:27-29; John 16:1-4; and John 16:9-11. With these words he told his disciples to take courage. In spite of the inevitable struggles they would face, they would not be alone. Jesus does not abandon us to our struggles either. If we remember that the ultimate victory has already been won, we can claim the peace of Christ in the most troublesome time.
Isaiah 41:13 (NLT)
13 For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.
Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Additional insight regarding Philippians 4:13: Can we really do everything? The power we receive in union with Christ is sufficient to do his will and to face the challenges that arise from our commitment to doing it. He does not grant us superhuman ability to accomplish anything we can imagine without regard to his interests. As we contend for the faith, we will face troubles, pressures, and trials. As they come, ask Christ to strengthen you.

Dear Lord thank you for today and thank you for being with me and comfort me and thank you for your love, joy, peace and all you have provided for me and my son. You are wonderful lord. Thank you for Jesus so grateful for Jesus. I love you Jesus 🙏❤️

DeleteWell, I think this person whether it be him or her was a devout Christian, who loved you so much Lord Jesus, and I pray that we can somehow work through the problems that we have through you because we sure can’t do that by ourselves even though we try. Lord Jesus help us as we go through our trials and tribulations as I have been going through quite some of those today. It is very ironic, but every time I read Jesus calling midday evening whatever time I read it every time I read the Jesus calling for that specific day it relates somehow with my life to God, be the glory! I’m ALLIN

ReplyDeleteI needed this one today…. Battling cancer and off to see a new surgeon… not sure how it will go of course I am hopeful for all great news and direction but whatever happens and which direction the trail sends me Jesus made me a promise and that I will lean on

DeleteMy sister is fighting lung cancer and she is so brave, she has always put her Faith in God first. She is a true Warrior and I just love her tenacity and keeping a smile on her face through it all. She my ever loving ❤️ strongest sister Cancer warriors. Cancer met with the wrong one! My big sister has kept a smile on her face through it all and this Demonic force they call Cancer will not steal her Joy. God is showing up and showing out in her life. Continue smiling and never ever lose Faith in God. I LOVE YOU MY BIG SISTER! 💋

ReplyDeleteDear Heavenly Father hank you God for defeating the power of darkness and death or Jesus taking up the punishment of sin that we were deserving of. lord I pray in this day that by our spirit you would help us to be aware and conscious of your presence with us every day so that we may remember that we have the victory and can face all things and boldness and courage in Jesus name so thank you God for everyday ad for never leaving nor forsaking in Jesus name amen.
